It’s hard to believe that there are only two weekends left before school starts – we’re crossing off the last few things from our summer bucket list, and content with how many of the things we’ve done this year. Kids Only Scavenger Hunt | Greenland Garden Centre
Gear up for a kids only scavenger hunt at Greenland Garden Centre. It’s $5/kid (5-10), and you’ve got to call to register ahead of time, but kids can take part in a fun scavenger hunt throughout the greenhouse.
When: Saturday, 10 am
Wagner Natural Area Toad Walk | Spruce Grove
We will be leading members on an evening walk through the Wagner Bog. We will be searching for Boreal Toads. The best chance to see adults is after sunset hence the late start time (10pm- midnight). I can pretty guarantee we will see toads!
When: Friday, 10pm-midnight
Trail Days | South Cooking Lake
Hot air balloon rides, a pancake breakfast, a parade, candy toss, and kids zone with activities like a petting zoo and inflatable waterslide, you’re going to want to come and spend the day in Cooking Lake.

Free Admission to Prairie Gardens Adventure Farms | Prairie Gardens
Get free admission to Prairie Gardens adventure Farms to celebrate open farm days. With more than fifty things to do on the farm, you can come and enjoy the day. Bring a bit of cash for paid activities while you’re there.
When: Sunday, 10-4
Movie under the Stars | Fort Saskatchewan
It’s like going to a drive-in movie, but you need a lawn chair or blanket instead of a car. Movie Under the Stars is a fun family night that has become one of the community’s favourites.
There is no charge for this popular evening, so gather up your family and friends and make your way to Legacy Park. In the past, more that 1,000 people have come to enjoy a night of stars under the stars, so arrive early to pick a perfect spot.Weather permitting.

Farm and Heritage Festival | Spruce Grove Grain Elevator
Come join the fun! Old-fashioned carnival environment for kids of all ages. Pony Carousel Rides! Thistle Farm Petting Zoo! We will have fresh Corn on the Cob, Burgers, and Hotdogs! Win prizes at the old-fashioned carnival games, or Western Shoot-out! Try the Giant Bouncy Fun House Inflatable Obstacle Course! Be entertained by the Balloon Twister! A Face Painting Artist will be on hand to bedazzle. Tour the historic Spruce Grove Grain Elevator while here, and visit the district’s Archives. The Spruce Grove Farmers Market will also be open – so there is something for everyone. Great way to spend a fun afternoon with your family right here in Spruce Grove. Game tickets range from $1 – 5.

Playful Downtown Pilot Project | Michael Phair Park
In conjunction with the city market, the Playful Downtown Pilot Project has four upcoming dates to encourage parents that downtown can be a child-friendly place to play, and raise a family. The pilot project will encourage free play where parents can join in, if they want, and take part in the fun.
When: Saturday, 12-3
Free Outdoor Family Movie Night | Jamie Platz YMCA
Join us for a real summer treat – Family Movie Night (outdoors)! Only at Jamie Platz Family YMCA. We will be watching Kung Fu Panda 3. Bring your camping/folding chairs and a blanket to enjoy the great outdoors. This is a FREE event for members and the public (non-members).

Community BBQ in the Park | Centennial Park
