What to do in Edmonton This Weekend (With Kids) | December 2-4

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. With plenty to do this weekend with the kids, and a few options for places to drop them off to get some of that holiday shopping completed, we’re sharing some of the best things to do in Edmonton.

Here’s what you should do this weekend with the kids? 

Cookie Decorating | Southgate Centre
For the young and the young-at-heart! Take a break from Christmas shopping and decorate cookies with the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton. You bring your creativity and a donation to the Christmas Bureau and we’ll bring the cookies, icing, and decorations.

Decorate a Gingerbread House | Visit your local Michaels store and check out the drop-in event where families can buy a gingerbread house in-store and decorate it to bring home. It’s a great way to have the fun of decorating a gingerbread house, without the mess in yours.
When: Saturday, 2-4

Watch a $2.99 Movie | Cineplex Theatres
Every Saturday, families can head to their local movie theatre and take in a movie – on the cheap. Tickets for the family favourites screening are only $2.99 each, making it a budget friendly way to get out of the house.
When: Saturday, 11 am

Take a Guided Walk and Play | John Janzen Indoor Playground
Take a guided walk at John Janzen, every Sunday. It’s a great way to combine indoor fun at the great playground, and take part in a guided walk, outdoors. The fun backyard programming is one that our entire family enjoys – remember to dress for the weather!

ATCO Family Skate | West Edmonton Mall
Enjoy a free family skate with ATCOenergy! Come down and have your picture taken in our Christmas themed photo booth and enjoy a sample hot chocolate and cookies. Together with our partners in #PositiveEnergy, ATCO Blue Flame Kitchen, we‘ll be sharing warm hot chocolate and celebrating the season of giving across the province.

Greenland Country Christmas | Greenland Garden Centre
Visit Greenland and enter a winter wonderland of magical holiday displays. Shop for that special someone and take part in the activities by donations. Kids can get their face painted, decorate cookies, roast marshmallows and go on a hay ride. Bring your own camera, and get a gorgeous shot of the kids with Santa Claus, himself.

Free Gingerbread House Decorating | Infiniti Master Builder
Bring the kids out and join us on December 3, 2016 for gingerbread house decorating at our WestPointe of Windermere showhome located at 5114 Woolsey Link NW from 1pm-3pm.
