Looking for something fun to do with your kids indoors?
CHILDISH is a new exhibit in the John and Maggie Mitchell Art Gallery that features artists who integrate the perspectives of children into their art practices. Inside the exhibit, kids (and adults) can create their own cast creation by using plaster of paris. These unique pieces are made in the sand and then are considered a blank canvas for kids to decorate with random art supplies that are provided by the gallery. Participants of the exhibit are encouraged to leave their creations on plinths, which provides kids the opportunity to be considered exhibiting artists. However, if your child would like to bring their creation home, they can do that too.
CHILDISH will be open to the public from September 13, 2018 to December 8, 2018 at the John and Maggie Mitchell Art Gallery. The gallery is located inside MacEwan University’s new Allard Hall, on the main level, room 11-121 and is open Tuesday – Saturday, 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
