Vegreville Fair is one of our go-to fairs during the summer months, with the small town feel, $30 ride all day bracelets and free admission to the grounds for children five and under. At just over an hour out of town, it’s the perfect chance to tire out the kids, let them fall asleep on the way home (after seeing the giant egg of course).
At 2.5 and 5, last year the girls rode on many of the ride alone, and loved every moment of it. This year, a year older, they’re going to have even more fun running around the grounds when the line ups aren’t as long as they’re used to in the city, us running to keep up with them ride after ride.
The midway starts at noon on Thursday, (tonight). Usually we head out on the Thursday night before it gets to be too busy, letting the girls enjoy the rides for hours on ending, getting our money’s worth for the $30 ride bracelets. This year, we’ve made plans with friends to head out to the festival on Friday night, for a night of traditional small town fair fun, to kick off August.
In addition to the midway fun there’s a petting zoo, the kids zone, the marketplace and of course, the fair food.
