We do Family Games Night once a week, and once a week we browse through our expansive list of board games, searching for one that everyone can agree on. Our favourites range from cooperative games, to games that are more physical based, like breaking eggs that may or may not be filled with over our heads – but this month, we’re introducing something new to our family game night: Nintendo.
Now, I know that you’re thinking: Nintendo for family games night? It’s the chance to play against each other, together, and introduce gaming to the youngest members of your family with an easy to navigate experience where they can play the preinstalled Mario Kart 7.
Introducing Mario Kart 7 for Family Games Night
Adding the New Nintendo 2DS XL to your repertoire of family game night creates a fun new way for the family to play, and our youngest gamer, familiar with Nintendo products nailed the courses, getting first and second place in the three rounds of Mario Kart 7 during our official Family Games Night.
Setting up for family game night usually means setting up a board, but it’s easier than ever to start gaming, in just a few clicks, because the preinstalled Mario Kart 7 gets you started with the system as quickly as setting up your favourite game of kids Sequence!
After family game night was over, both kids revelled in the fact that they could choose with familiar characters like Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach, while exploring those new and familiar tracks!
Whether you’re battling it out for the most ‘race wins’ during family game night, or you’re searching for a first-system for the younger ones in your house, the New Nintendo 2DS XL is a solid choice for the holiday season. As a bonus, it will come in handy on any holiday road trips you’ve got planned as it comes with Mario Kart 7 preinstalled.
FYI: The New Nintendo 2DS XL plays all Nintendo 3DS games in 2D – so if you’ve got games in your collection, you can play those too!
Family Game Night Friendly Nintendo 2DS Games
Mario Kart 7
As we talked about above, this is a game that the entire family is going to enjoy together. With the adjusted levels of difficulty (tip: adjust the CC based on experience), you’re going to have some fun tournaments as part of ‘Games Night’.
Super Mario 3D Land
The kids (and you) will love the characters that you’ve grown up with! It’s a throwback for you and a new experience for them, in a fun-filled, 3D world filled that’s easy enough for kids as young as six to tackle on their own!
Super Mario Maker
For the ultimate Mario experience, we love Super Mario Maker. In this game, players will create their own levels and can pass it off for other members of the family to tackle, and try to win!
Add a bit of Nintendo to your next Family Games Night. Visit https://www.nintendo.com/en_CA/ to learn more about the system, or order for the holiday season!
