Kayaks, Stand up paddleboards and canoes aren’t always accessible for families. They can be expensive to rent, expensive to purchase and difficult to store if you don’t have the garage space. For this reason, a lot of kids don’t have the experience of getting out there on the lake, and learning those skills that adventures are made of.
To change that, and create those adventuring skills, we’ve got a drop-in event to share with you, perfect to get the kids out, active and trying something new.
Fridays at Rundle Park, until August 26th, you can bring the kids out to try Canoes, Stand up Paddleboards and Kayaks, for only $15/person, between 6:45 and 8:45.
It’s an inexpensive way to spend a couple of hours in the outdoors. Don’t forget the sunscreen, the bug spray – and the Paddling Centre will take care of the rest.
Bring a picnic dinner, spend a bit of time exploring the playground and trails and finish up the evening on the water, learning a few new skills – it’s a great (and inexpensive) way to spend a summer evening in Edmonton.
Tip: When we go to things like this, we usually bring along our own life jackets (or call ahead to make sure they can accommodate children’s lifejacket sizes)
