Every year we make the decision of which summer camps are going to make it to the top of our list, which summer camps we’re going to register for. Together with the kids, we choose our favourites, consider the programming and the experience.
When we send our kids to summer camps, we want them to be a combination of exciting, education and experiential. We want them to leave a week-long experience at summer camp having learned something, having gained something. This year, we’ve found one we think you’re going to love – and there are still spaces available this summer!
Edmonton Humane Society Summer Camp
Camps at the Edmonton Humane Society enable children to experience the behind the scenes of the humane society and learn all about how our community relies on the animal shelter (and, of course, there’s plenty of time spent with the shelter animals!).
Designed for children ages 5 to 12, and perfect for any young animal lover, EHS kids camps offer a variety of activities including animal-related crafts and games, guest presenters, and making new friends – both of the human and animal variety!
Each day will offer a new experience with various themes, such as dog day, cat day, vet day, small animal day and EHS 101 day. Campers will spend time with different species of animals, go on a behind-the-scenes tour of the shelter, learn about training and behaviour, veterinary work, animal enrichment, what goes on at the EHS, and more!
Registration is Still Open for Edmonton Humane Society Camp
Now that we’re into summer vacation, you’ve probably got a better idea of your schedule. The EHS Summer Camps fill up quickly, but there are a few spots still available in July and August. With a new daily theme, it really seems to immerse the kids in what they’re learning about that day.
The logistics // Camps are priced affordably, at $250 for full week and $200 for holiday week camps. The camp day is between 10 am – 4 pm, but parents can drop off as early as 9 am and pick up as late at 5 pm. The best part? There are no extra charges associated with this!
Click here to register your child for Edmonton Humane Society summer camp for full week spots – space is filling up fast! Don’t wait too long to secure your spot.
Pro Tip // Stay tuned for holiday break day camps coming up in fall, winter and spring – they’re just as exciting as summer break camps! And if you’re looking for a different way to celebrate your child’s birthday, check out the EHS birthday parties!
