Opening this weekend, the Broadmoor Lake Spray park is easily one of the best we’ve been to in the city. Despite the fact that there were children everywhere, there was tons of room left to play around the main structure, with too many water features to count.
Water is on daily from 10 a.m. – 9 p.m., when it’s 20°C or warmer, from May Long weekend to September Labour Day long weekend.
One of my favorite parts of the new spray park is the fact that there are slides incorporated into the water play area, and I have to say, this was also one of the kids favorite parts. With three slides to choose from, and fun interactive aspects of the structure, it’s a fun way to spend the afternoon.
For little kids, there is a fun little river play area where they can sit in the water, play with water toys and have a bit of fun if they don’t want to get too wet, in the park or on the structure.
There were more than 13,000 tires used to create the soft landing surface for the playground, making it accessible, and easy to walk, and slide on.
Attendants are on staff at the spray park, there are showers and washrooms close by and the building and shaded picnic tables provide a bit of relief from the sun, something unique of a lot of the new parks and spray parks in Edmonton. This new spray park at Broadmoor Lake is easily one of the best in the city, and is right beside one of the newest and best playgrounds in Edmonton, too.
The playground is located at Broadmoor Lake, in Sherwood Park.
