Milkshakes in any flavour, fun colored hopskotch and colorful chairs to sit in while the kids play with bubble and lick ice cream cones. Those are a few of the things that you’re going to get when you visit the Ice Cream Shack in Sherwood Park.
The ice cream shack opens for the season May 4, 2016 – and you’re going to want to be there when it does (4 pm).
The standard traditional hard ice cream flavours are available at the shack, that sits in a parking lot in a convenient part of Sherwood Park. From kids cones ($3) to adult milkshakes made with three scoops of flavours of your choice ($8) you can get a taste of something sweet and cold during the summer season.
The shack is open Monday to Friday, 4-9 and weekends, 12-9, weather dependent.
Kids can buy bubbles, play hopskotch or run around the small green area while you sip on your custom mixed milk shake ($5 for the kids version, and it is less messy than the traditional cone) made with your choice of white or chocolate milk.
Fun at the Ice Cream Shack in Sherwood Park
Cones are generous in size and as a parent I appreciate those small extras that you will find at the picnic table, like wet wipes and a hand washing station that is perfect for the way that my kid eat ice cream – where there is not an area of their tiny little bodies ice cream has not invaded.
Price wise, we had three adults, two who got adult sized cones, two kids cones, a large milkshake and a can of orange pop for under $25.
You can find the Ice Cream Shack on Facebook or stop by and try the traditional flavours for yourself at 11 Athabascan Ave.
