The gorgeous winter wonderland of the Ice Castles is returning to Edmonton! Construction is underway in Hawrelak Park of another massive ice castle for the 2017 – 18 winter season. The acre-sized winter wonderland is crafted by hand, using only icicles and water, and resembles organic formations found in nature, like those of frozen waterfalls, glaciers or ice caves.
Bringing the kids to Ice Castles Edmonton
Edmonton’s Ice Castle will once again be built in Hawrelak Park (9330 Groat Road) in partnership with the City of Edmonton and the Silver Skate Festival. Construction will begin in November, and the Ice Castle is expected to be open to the public late December 2017, through March 2018, weather permitting.
