Just ten minutes outside of Sherwood Park is one of our favourite hidden gems for toddler playtime. Located inside of the Ardrossan Rec Centre, the small indoor playground features a climbing wall, a fun little forest that’s perfect for tiny imaginations and a toddler sized climbing structure and slide.
The space is filled with small, climb-on structures, mats and places to explore; it’s a great stop for parents searching for somewhere new to play during the cooler weather.
Traditional play structure design with rings for hanging, a slide, and plenty of places to climb, it’s very well designed for running around the room, games of hide and seek and climbing on everything within it (especially the little-kid friendly climbing wall).
Admission for children is $3.75 for children aged 2-17, under two is free and parents do not have to pay admission when using the indoor playground. The edu-tainment centre is rated for children under ten, but we think that it’s best suited to children six and under, based on the space and the activities and experience while you’re there.
How to get there: Located 9 km. east of Sherwood Park. Take Highway 16 east or Baseline Road to Range Road 222. Visit www.strathcona.ca to learn more about the play space and programming.
