Laser City has brought a new activity for young kids to Edmonton – and it’s called Hero Tag. Don’t worry, you can still play regular laser tag (ages 6+) and paintball at the awesome downtown facility. For drop-in family dates, birthday parties or something new to mix up those long, winter days – it’s one thing you’re going to want to add to your winter to-do list.
Hero Tag
After a bit of quick instruction, the kids got suited up to try the new Hero Tag at Laser City. It’s new to Laser City, coming in January. It’s a laser tag experience for little kids (between 4-8) and their parents. Unique, non-gun blasters are used in the course, and the vests used by the kids are actually capes! Immediately, the kids loved this, comparing their glove to Iron Man.
The purpose built Hero Tag arena is brighter, has shorter obstacles, carpet and gentler ramps, making it a safe option for younger children. We brought kids along ranging between 4-9, and can’t wait until some of the younger ones are able to come and play too.
How long does the game take? Games of Hero tag take about 20 minutes, a ten minute introduction and about 10 minutes in the area. For kids that age, it’s the perfect amount of time. You can take a break in between and grab a drink and play some of the games outside of the field, and go in for a second game!
The kids loved it, immediately asking to go back for another round the next day. Since Parents can play too, it’s a great option to introduce kids into the fun of laser tag and try something new.
Drop in is coming in January, and prices will be $8.50/game. In the meantime you can check it out by booking a party for only $14.50/kid, including two games and the fun party rooms where you can bring your own food. It’s one of our top recommendations for Birthday Parties in Edmonton.
Laser City can be found at Edmonton Paintball, 10010 107 A Ave, with easy parking downtown behind the facility. Find out more at www.lasercity.ca/herotag (book online here).
