Inspired by a fossil found in the area, Dino Park is having a grand opening celebration July 25, 2015, between 1-3 (ribbon cutting at 2pm). Enjoy free ice cream, balloon artist, dino cookies, face painting and the chance to discover a brand new playground in the area that feels like you’re crawling into a dinosaur fossil.
In 2013, a construction crew working in Leduc uncovered a hadrosaur fossil in the Meadowview community. Hadrosaurs were duck-billed dinosaurs that lived about 68 million years ago. To commemorate the archaeological significance of the find, the City contributed $100,000 towards construction of the new playground.
You know what just got added to our list of summer fun? Attending this celebration in the Meadowview community where there are going to experts from the Royal Tyrrell Museum.
