When it comes to fun splash parks, even lightning in the distance and clouds rolling in couldn’t keep our kids out of them. There’s something even more exciting about splashing around a spray park in the rain (especially when you’ve got warm towels in the car) – and so today, we did just that.
The colorful balls, and fun spray features at the Meadows Recreation Spray park is one of our new favourite places to play, as it’s close to our home, and the kids love running through the ‘rainbow balls’ as they call them. There is seating for parents, and parking is close, with washrooms inside, for parents of little kids.
It’s a fun space, with a variety of water features that are perfect for kids, but we would shy away with toddlers that are still weary of spray features – these ones are high, and cold, and lack the ‘toddler friendly’ features that are found at other spray parks around the city.
Updated from the image above, there are tables and an additional green space added this year, allowing parents to easily have somewhere to sit while the kids are running and playing through the colorful sprinklers.
