There’s something you’re going to want to add to your bucket list for next winter – and that’s the football field sized ice castle coming to our city during the Silver Skate Festival in winter of 2016.
The gorgeous ice castle is slated to begin construction in October with layers and layers of ice being created with water sprayed onto the structure. Hoping to be opened between December and March, the castle will be in Hawrelak Park and feature tubed ice slides, a maze and even tunnels.
It’s like a Frozen castle, come to life, was the first thing that Olivia said when she saw the pictures. Ice Castles, the company responsible for the build, has created gorgeous castles, including the one above, in Utah.
Ice slides were on our winter bucket list, but this year we’re going to take it to the next level and we’re going to walk in the gorgeous (and huge) ice castle at the festival and slide through the canyons and the caves – exploring something new and fantastic in our city.
Add this to your bucket list for next year, the Edmonton ice castle during the Silver Skate Festival is going to be fantastic. Learn more at Ice Castles.
Plus, they’re currently looking for ambassadors for Edmonton that are going to help guide visitors through the castle. You can get more information at www.icecastles.com
