Servus community access evenings are the perfect opportunity to explore the Art Gallery of Alberta, without the admission costs. On the last Thursday of the month, families (or anyone) can come to the gallery and take advantage of the free admission as part of the community access night.
No tickets are required, and you can find out about the current installations and exhibits inside of the Art Gallery to plan the evening before visiting the gallery.
It’s the perfect opportunity to take a summer evening to explore inside of the gallery, cool off and take a walk downtown when you’re finished (or before) to take in some of the fun things to do all through the summer months. Current exhibitions include The World of Boo, where children can become enamoured with a loveable character, created by local artists. Older children will love the POP! Show.
If you have a child that’s not fond of walking around and you don’t to hold them the entire time, consider bringing an umbrella stroller to make the tour through the gallery that much easier. Get in the adult exhibits that you want to see first, before heading over to experience the fun stuff for the kids. Giving them something to look forward to at the end of the trip is one of the easiest ways that we are able to see everything we want to see on a Thursday night trip.
Hours: 6pm – 9pm, the last Thursday of the month
