Day trips, road trips, however you slice it – the season for getting in the car and finding adventure is here. With the children out of school and adventure near and far in Edmonton area and beyond, many families are hitting the road in search of a place to cool off and make those summer memories.
Road trips come with memories – but they often also come with rock chips to the windshield. I don’t think we’ve gone a road trip without getting a rock to the windshield, and most recently a horrific chip right in the center of the windshield on a trip to Canmore.
Tip// Find your nearest Glassmaster’s Auto Glassto stop by before the chips crack, and it’s only thirty dollars.
Here are four lakes to explore in Alberta this summer
Horseshoe Lake
Located just thirty kilometers south of Jasper, Horseshoe Lake is one of those magical places for kids and families. There are cliffs of every shape and size for kids to jump in to the freezing cold water that will cool you off on a perfect summer day.
Long Island Lake
Long Island Lake is just over an hour outside of Edmonton and one of the best beaches to spend with the kids. There’s a playground and volleyball court right on the beach, and a giant course of tires for kids to play in. Kids are going to love the yellow dock to jump off of, and the fact that the sandy bottom is easy on the feet of young kids.
Hubbles Lake
Allan Beach Resort on Hubbles Lake is a great place to spend the day. The private resort comes with the cost of admission of $25/family for access, but the sandy beach and kid-friendly swimming place.
Slave Lake – Devonshire Beach
Devonshire Beach at Slave Lake is one of the largest and best beaches in Edmonton. At three hours outside of Edmonton, it’s a trip where you might want to plan to spend the night – lucky for you, there are a few inexpensive hotel options with waterslides, where you can take a break from the sandy beach.
Is Your Windsheild Road Trip Ready?
On our most recent road trip, we reached the point of no return – it was time to get the windshield replaced. Glassmaster’s Auto Glass replaced the windshield of our Ford Flex (and even tidied the front of our vehicle!). The service was thorough and you could even catch up on Netflix if you decided to wait in the shop.
Competitively priced and quick to book an appointment, we were able to get in quickly to replace the windshield before our next scheduled weekend getaway. Who knew the ‘new windshield feeling’ was a thing? Now I do!
Visit Glassmaster’s Auto Glass for a quote to have your windshield replaced at www.glassmastersautoglass.com– it’s quick and easy, and you can get that ‘new windshield feeling’ too.
