Park across from Sheriff Robertson Park, on the street, at 111 Ave and 81 Street. There’s a playground there, if you want to stop for a quick play before the walk. Across the playground, you’ll see a path that goes down into the Ravine and quickly into the path you’ll start to see the art murals on the path, as you continue.
Keep walking along the gravel trail and you’ll meet the River Valley trail, and get access to great views. If you’re walking with younger children, you can turn around and head back the way you came, back to the playground for a quick play session, for a shorter walk that feels like you’ve left the city behind.
Watch out for the trail, though there’s lots to explore, there are some steep drop-offs at the trail, so you’re going to want to make sure that the kids don’t get too too far ahead of you. Along the trail, there’s lots to climb on and see, like the ‘hoodoo’ looking outcrops, that you’ll see if you choose to keep going on the trail.
