We love the new Live Active initiative. It’s a chance to get active, with or without the kids, in the city. It’s a chance to explore the outdoor rink at City Hall over the lunch hour, with free skate rentals from Arts Edmonton between 11:30 and 1:30 pm, every Friday.
What should you know before you go?
PARKING: If you’re parking downtown, consider parking East of City Hall and making the walk over to the ice rink area.
CHILDREN’S SKATES: We haven’t skated here at lunch time before, so you might want to get in touch to confirm that there are youth and junior sized skates available as part of the free rentals, before you head all the way to the rink.
LOCATION: Our kids love skating in the heart of downtown. Not only is it a fun new place to explore, but there are plenty of choices when it comes to eating, drinking or warming up when you’re finished on the ice.
