You can’t drive by a playground with a school bus front and center, without stopping. Especially if you’re driving with a three year old that has a minor obsession on going on the bus (you’re still two fall seasons away from that kiddo). Fun for pretend, to climb in and out of, and to sing songs with, the playground features nice shade for parents in addition to the fun for the kids. The covered bench area is perfect for staying cool on summer days.
St. Martha Catholic school in West Edmonton (Callingwood) has a fantastic playground for the kids, including a school bus, teeter totter built for three, or four, climbing structures, disc swings, great climbing structures the girls compared to honeycombs, and those awesome spinning chairs.
Find the playground at: 7240 180 Street NW. The large area of the playground is a fun space to run, but structures and climbers are spaced far enough apart that you are still easily able to see every part of the playground, perfect for bringing the kids to the park when there’s just one parent.
