When it comes to the end of the week, I’m usually at the end of ‘I feel like cooking dinner’. To combat this, we use delivery services like Chef’s Plate a couple of times a week, but you’ve still got to cook it.
This week, I discovered something new – the Friday Night Take Out offered at Highlands Golf Course. It’s a meal suitable for three to four people (there are four of us and we’ve found the portions to be very generous) for under thirty bucks. We’ve tried the pulled pork with buns (delicious) and coleslaw, for $29, and this week, we tried the mac and cheese with garlic wedges ($22). We had the mac and cheese with some leftover fried chicken, and there was more than half left when we finished dinner.
Leftovers in the fridge for the weekend, a meal under thirty bucks that I could pair with a salad in the refrigerator and a dinner that I didn’t have to make? I’m going to call that one a win.
How to Order Friday Night Take Out
There’s a new meal every week at Highlands Golf Club, you can find it on the Friday Night Take Out website or follow the Golf Club on Facebook, to first see what’s on the menu for Friday Night Take Out. Then, place your order by calling the golf club at (780) 474-4211 extension 3.
You’ve got to place your order before noon on Thursday, and arrange for a time to pick it up on Friday. I opt for right before dinner so we can grab it on our way home from work, go home and immediately have dinner ready and on the table. You pay for the take out meal when you pick it up.
All you have to do is stop by the Golf Club at 6603 Ada Boulevard to pick up the meal, and wait until next week to take another quick break from cooking.
