At ninety minutes from Edmonton, Viking has one of the coolest festivals you’re going to experience through the summer. For one weekend, you can experience a Viking Village, set up in town to allow visitors to explore through, while taking in the activities during festival weekend on June 16th and 17th, 2017.
Vikings in the Street Festival
What are you going to see at the festival? During the weekend long festival, you’ll find family fun, in addition to hands-on experience seeing just what it was like to live like a Viking Village.
Friday features activities through the afternoon and evening on Main street – Country market, business specials, hilarious bed races, remote control car races for the kids, with a Chili cook off and music in the evening.
Saturday events include a pancake breakfast, a parade, inflatables for the kids and family-friendly activities, like face painting and the petting zoo. There are vendors at the grounds all afternoon and even a lutefisk eating contest.
Fun for the kids, fun for the family and the chance to add a bit of ‘Viking’ to your summer, at the perfect road trip distance from Edmonton, Vikings in the Street should make it to the top of your list of places to explore this year. It’s close enough, that you can easily drive home at the end of the tired, and with a bit of Viking Experience under your belt, having crossed, another place in Alberta to explore, off your summer travel bucket list
