Awake Coffee House is a quaint little combination coffee shop and pharmacy, on the south side of the city. It’s adorable, bright, and one of the best cheap brunches you’ll find in the city when you’re eating with kids.
This weekend, we decided to bring along the kids for the first time, giving them the experience that we’ve had a handful of times – and introduce them to delicious bubble waffles.
Best Bubble Waffles in Edmonton
The best bubble waffles in Edmonton isn’t an understatement. You can choose to have your bubble waffle plain, with delicious sauce to dip them in with a selection from the hot drink menu, or choose to have a stuffed bubble waffle.
Make your choice from options like the B.E.G; bacon, egg and guac stuffed inside a bubble waffle, creating a delicious savoury option, or the sweeter side, cookies and cream. The waffles are large enough for two children to share, and ours (seven and two) easily split one, minus the guac.
What else is on the menu?
- Mint Strawberry
fresh strawberries, with mint leaves, real whipping cream and condensed milk drizzle - Pina Colada
pineapple chunks, and sweet coconut pudding with toasted coconut sprinkles - Spicy Chicken
oven roasted chicken, mozzarella cheese, kimchi, lettuce with spicy aoili sauce - BEG
bacon, scrambled egg and chunky guacamole with awake made tomato sauce with roasted garlic and basil
Each bubble waffle is $8.50, and is generously portioned. Like we said, if you’re brunching with two young children, you can easily order one waffle for them to share.
