Catching an early flight out of town is something that we’ve become accustomed to. Getting up before five o’clock, getting everyone dressed and out the door. No one’s hungry yet – we’re barely awake. Thinking about breakfast while you’re at home? Nope, not happening.
Boston Pizza is serving up breakfast at Edmonton International airport (and perhaps more important, Mimosas). I don’t know about you, but if I’ve got to be cheery at five o’clock and grin airport security with the kids, whining in tow, there are going to have to be a couple of Mimosas involved.
Don’t worry, there’s food too; the traditional breakfast fare to choose from. A two egg breakfast, a three egg breakfast with sausage and bacon, french toast, a three cheese omelette and of course, a breakfast pizza.
With hefty portion sizes (I shared the breakfast with three eggs, three pieces of sausage and bacon with hashbrowns and toast, with the girls), and a solid breakfast to fill you up before you head out of town, in the early hours of the morning.
For the three of us, it was just under $60 with tip (that’s two mimosas and two breakfast orders, plus drinks for the kids). The price point is right around what I would expect to pay for breakfast at the airport. Bright and early, it was quiet and our food came quickly, appeasing the kids.
The convenient location straight past the security gate, and a short walk away from the play area (between gate 68 and 70) means that you’re going to be fed and be ready to wait a couple of hours with the kids, while they jump on the toys and have a ‘dog show’ in the mini play area.
