This year, the largest life-size gingerbread house yet will be unveiled at the Tree Lighting Ceremony at Fairmont Hotel Macdonald.
On November 15th, 2019, the holiday season will officially commence with our annual Tree Lighting Ceremony; an open-to-the-community event in support of driving awareness for the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton. The ceremony will also unveil our largest gingerbread house yet – standing approximately 20ft. high and 18ft wide to welcome guests as they arrive in the lobby. The colossal structure is brought to life by our engineering and culinary teams over a total of 650 hours!
The hour-long celebration will include live musical performances by the local Hilwie Hamdon School, and cookies & hot chocolate. When the tree lighting ceremony is finished, you can see the largest gingerbread house in the city be unveiled, it’s 20′ tall!
