New Year’s Day in the Park
Our Annual skate, sleigh & fireworks event. Loose event schedule: Sleigh Rides/Skating/Hot Chocolate begin at 3, although sometimes even a tad earlier. Sleigh rides shut down at 5 PM sharp (because the horses need to get home before the fireworks begin), and fireworks begin at about 5:20, and end around 5:30.

New Year’s Day Taco Party at El Cortez
We are open for New Year’s Day! AND it’s Two Taco Tuesday. Come nurse your hangovers with some delicious tacos. DJ Mikey Wong will be bringing all the party vibes. Book your reservations on OpenTable. Open at noon.

Sledding Pop up Party at Griesbach
Get your snow pants on and join the Griesbach Community League on New Year’s Day. The treats are free, but bring your own toboggan. Meet at the central hill. There’s free hot chocolate, coffee and treats!

Take a Free Ballet Class
Open ballet class for all levels (we will teach a split class to accommodate everyone). Come out and dance over the holidays!! The Sunday classes are at 12:-1:30 pm and we’re doing an afternoon class on Tuesday Jan 1, from 3:00-4:30pm.

New Year’s Day Brunch and Skate
Come on down on New Years Day January 1, 2019 and ring in the new year with a $2 pancake breakfast followed by an afternoon of skating.

New Year’s Day at Strathcona Wilderness Centre
Dress warmly, bring a mug and head join us for a day of winter fun from 1 – 4 p.m. on January 1, 2019. Activities include:
– snowshoeing and cross-country skiing
– toonie ski lessons (1 p.m. or 3 p.m.)
– toonie snowshoe ramble (2 p.m.)
Proceeds from toonie lessons go to the Strathcona Food Bank. Regular trail and rental fees apply.

Holiday SportsZone at Millennium Place
For ages 3 and up. 3-6 year olds require supervision by someone at least 14 years old. Socks are required on the inflatables. Activities include: sporting equipment, mini-hockey stick arena, value added activities and more!
