Community League Memberships in Edmonton are reasonably priced, and the benefits that a family can get out of the membership, make it totally worth it. Here are a few of the reasons we always renew our annual Community League Membership ($40.00/year for our family of 5).
Free Community Events
You get to attend free community events! Here are some examples of the Community events that happen in my community: Weekly Tot-Time/Playgroup at the hall, Annual Family Skate Party, Food-Truck Summer Solstice Party, annual Pancake Breakfast, a Kids Halloween Party, and a Christmas Bake and Craft Sale – even movie nights! Contact your local community league for events that are happening in your community.
Free Outdoor Skating
Free outdoor skating! Find the closest outdoor community league rink to you, click here. Skate tags are available when you purchase your membership with some community leagues.
Free Community League Swimming
Our kids favorite perk to having a Community League Membership is the free Community League Swim, once a week. Contact your local community league for dates, times, and locations. Check with your league to see if free community swims are a perk of joining your community league!
The Community League Wellness Program
Your Community League Membership will automatically qualify you for the Community League Wellness Program, which gives reduced rates at City of Edmonton recreational facilities. With a Community League Membership and automatic inclusion to the Community League Wellness Program, that Adult Regular Single Admission and annual fees are reduced. For more information on participating rec centers, check here.
Giving Back to the Community
The money that you use to buy your membership goes straight back into your community – by the way of your league putting on social events to bring the community together, to maintenance of your community hall, which in turn creates a space that is available to host recreational, family, educational and sports programming, etc. In addition, any money that is gained from Membership costs can then be used to update your league space by building spray parks and maintaining outdoor rinks in the winter.
Community Discounts
Lastly, who doesn’t enjoy a good discount?! With your Community League Membership, you get a discount at the following places: Acclaimed! Heating, Cooling, and Furnace Cleaning, Community League Wellness Program, Cloverdale Paint, Urban Poling, free skating at any outdoor Community League rink, and Orbis Sports.
