This December, Zoominescence, hosted by the Valley Zoo Development Society, will stage a spectacular exhibition of artistic light installations within the unique setting of the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The festival’s vision is to celebrate light, artistry, imagination and the strong spirit of our community in the winter. Join us for an evening of light, animals, skating, hot chocolate and fun for the whole family! Running every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, plus the 26th & 27th!

Snow Valley Winterfest
Saturday and Sunday will feature a marshmallow roast in front of the Lodge as well as Obis Bubble Sports from 11am until 3pm. While you’re on the hill be sure to have your Scavenger Hunt form from Snow Rider. Once completed, bring it back to Snow Rider and collect your prize! Speaking of prizes, be sure to enter to win either a pair of skis or a snowboard in Snow Rider. We’ll be choosing a winner on both Saturday AND Sunday. Winner chooses: Skis or Snowboard.

Winter Carnival in Baturyn
Baturyn Playschool will be hosting a Winter Carnival on Sunday Dec 2, 12-4. For just $5/family enjoy a sleigh ride, face painting, hot chocolate, cookie decorating and other fun! Please consider bringing empty bottles to donate to the Scouts’ bottle drive happening the same day.

Brighten up Beaumont and Fireworks
Bring your friends and family out to enjoy Beaumont’s annual holiday celebration! Sleigh Rides, Santas and Mrs. Claus, hot chocolate, oranges, cookie decorating, crafts, ice carvings, music, and reindeer. Outdoor activities will be weather dependent, please dress warm! Lines for Santa and sleigh rides will close at 8:30pm! Don’t wait!

Kids Gingerbread Workshop
Join us for Christmas fun and merriment at City Market Downtown’s Gingerbread House Workshop! The workshop will be lead by Jon Avis – owner of Meat Street Pies and a baker with over 40 years of experience. Each gingerbread house kit will come with fresh baked, all-butter gingerbread, icing and a piping bag, a foil covered wooden board for your house to sit on, and a selection of delicious candies! You will also get $5 in City Market Bucks (per kit) to spend on local goodies at the farmers’ market after the workshop.

Family Cat Yoga at the Humane Society
Are you looking for a fun activity to do with your family? Bring the whole family to this fun event! This program is suited for anyone aged 5 and up who loves to relax, stretch, and hang out with cats! This course will include 45 minutes of yoga, followed by 15 minutes of meditation. The full hour will include Edmonton Humane Society shelter cats roaming the room as you relax and stretch out.
