Harvest festivals are like a kick off to fall weather. Cozy sweater, soup served for dinner and cozy evenings around the fireplace where the house is soft lit with candles. I adore summer, but fall has a special place in my heart for the kick off to something fresh and cozy, hygge.

Stony Plain Harvest Fall Fair | September 29, 2018
There is plenty to do for the whole family, including sparkle tattoos, a balloon artist, wagon rides, live music and old time games. Kids are invited to do a pumpkin patch craft and try an old fashioned cookie in the Pahal House. This year we have a display of miniature machines from the Alberta Metal Enthusiasts Network, other groups will also be demonstrating pieces of machinery, including a working grain grinder. As always the Tea House is serving up some delicious lunch and pie and the Dawgs Hunger Hut concession will be providing something tasty for the younger visitors.

Harvest Fair at the Grain Elevator | September 15, 2018
Come wind-down the 2018 summer season and support your community at the Spruce Grove Grain Elevator & Museum grounds. Have some free, farm-themed country fun! Old fashioned farm yard games, hay rides, Pop-Up Playground and Toddler Tent so children can create pioneer crafts and play games, there’s a cow milking competition, potato sack races and games with the Beavers, baby cows to adore, and more! The Prairie Ornamental Avicultural Association fall market-style bird sale at the Little Red Barn (fancy chickens, exotic pheasants, peafowl, waterfowl, game birds).

An afternoon filled with old fashioned fun for the whole family! Hayrides, corn on the cob, marshmallow roast, pie baking contest, kid’s activities,pumpkin/vegetable carving demonstrations and more! Toonie donations for some activities.

Sustainable Food Edmonton Fall Fair | September 15, 2018
This is a family friendly event that will coincide with Riverdale Community League’s League day. There will be something for everyone: a FREE BBQ, soccer games, kids games, silent auctions and of course our Harvest Contests! Do your friends and family rave about your jams? Pies? Pickling? We’ve got judges ready to give you bragging rights and ribbons for the best pie, best jam/sauce, and best pickling!
