Sweet Jesus is open at Southgate Centre and it’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of (well, what we hope is the end of) fifth winter in Edmonton.
The completely instagrammable ice cream treats are available in two sizes (biggie and smallz) for $5 and $7 ish and is created with soft ice cream, and dripped with things like cream cheese icing, or chocolate, and covered in delicious toppings that create a layer of crunch and crust.
We tried the rocky road rage and birthday cake, and liked both, but they didn’t come close to the ‘oh-my-gosh-the-best-thing-we’ve-ever-had’ but it was good. We also tried a milkshake, the red velvet, that one? Skip it – it wasn’t worth it.
But if you’re a KID
If you’re a kid, that would probably escalate the experience to ‘oh-delicious’ because let’s face it – you’re a kid, and these things are covered in delicious things like marshmallow, chocolate, and crumbled up birthday cake.
Is Sweet Jesus worth a try? Sure, and when you’re finished you can head over to the LEGO store and play with the LEGO stations in-store. Maybe get the kids one to share just in case they lose interest in the soft serve before they’ve even reached the middle.
That’s the safe bet.
Find Sweet Jesus in the Food Court at Southgate Centre, 5015 111 Street.
