Get Ready in the Park | Saturday
After last year’s event was cancelled due to focusing resources on helping people affected by the wildfires in Fort McMurray and the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Get Ready in the Park returns for 2017. Find out how you and your family can prepare for an emergency at this free, fun, family-oriented event
Mother’s Day at the Zoo | Sunday
We will be putting a spotlight on moms – animal and human – this Mother’s Day! Our resident animal moms will be getting special enrichment treats throughout the afternoon! Enjoy a visit to our Canada 150 Tulip Garden or pick up a present for Mom at our Arts Market. Enjoy magic shows, airbrush tattoos, animal encounters, planting activities, live music and more!

Family fun day featuring cookie decorating, pictures with Disney princesses at this free event and learn more about what stuttering is and how ISTAR can help.
Lightning McQueen’s Canadian Road Trip | Saturday & Sunday
Fans will have the chance to have their photo taken with the life-size Lightning McQueen lookalike, test their motor skills at a remote control race car track and join in on arts and crafts in Disney Channel’s Kids’ Activity Pit Stop area.
Clean and Green River Fest | Saturday
Join us for the TD Clean and Green RiverFest for their annual river clean-up and tree planting event. It’s an opportuntiy for individuals, groups or families to attend and to learn how everyone can impact his/her environnent in a postive way. This event is for all ages.
Get Ice Cream | All weekend Long
The ice cream shack is open in Sherwood Park and it’s time to check it out. There’s plenty of flavours, activities to entertain the kids and you can get a milkshake in any flavour.
Founder’s Day | Sunday, 12-4
From 1912 through to 1938, the Rutherford family hosted an annual Founder’s Day celebration. Mr. Rutherford and the University of Alberta graduating students would plant a tree on campus and then return to the family home for a luncheon. Join us for refreshments, tour the garden, and receive your own graduation certificate.
