During the summer (and maybe a little on those fall nights when we’ve got swimming lessons) take-out is my savior. Grabbing a quick bite to eat with the kids that is going to fill them up, fuel them and that isn’t fries and chicken nuggets is essential – and there’s got to be something that I want to eat too. Freshii $4.99 Kids Meals
- Kung Fu Bowl
- Cheese/Chicken Quesidilla
- Chicken noodle soup
- Super kids Salad
Our top pick for the kids is the Kung Fu Bowl. It’s got chicken, broccoli, rice, carrots, edamame, crispy wontons, and the choice of rice or noodles. The portion was enough to feed our six year old, and had a familiar Teriyaki sauce in it. The only issue she had with the bowl was the edamame, funnily enough, because she loves edamame and hot sauce in pods.
Like I said, the serving size wasn’t huge, so we’re probably going to have to order her a bowl of her soon enough, off of the kids menu. For little kids though? The kids meals are fine. The chicken quesadilla came in two wedges that fed a four year old, a fussy four year old at that (with a couple of bites for her big sister).
For the adults, we opted for the regular burrito and Buddha bowl, adding chicken to the bowl. It was tasty, but next time I would opt for the steak instead of the chicken – to give it a try.
Under ten bucks for adults, and under five bucks for kids, Freshii provides affordable and healthy options for families that are searching for better ways to eat while you’re on the go.
