There are plenty of ways that you can experience the magic of Candy Cane Lane. You can drive down the popular lane filled with holiday magic, or you can walk on an evening that’s not too blustery – you can even experience Candy Cane Lane by sleigh!
Christmas Glow
Bring together the people you love to stroll, laugh and play under the twinkle of a million lights. Our playgrounds and interactive features will entertain the kids for hours, while the adults kick back at our licensed bar and enjoy some seasonal beverages, delicious food, and live music. Glow’s illuminated sculptures are the perfect backdrop for selfies and holiday family photos. You can even whisper your Christmas list to Santa!
Magic of Lights
Come down to Castrol Raceway November 17th-January 7th for a night you won’t forget. It’s $25/vehicle to visit the lights, and it includes a wonderful tunnel of lights that you can drive through – talk about holiday magic!
Leduc County Lights
Bundle up, grab a cup of hot cocoa and even visit with Santa on this wonderful adventure that’s filled with Christmas magic. Leduc Country Lights is magical, but this is the last year that you can catch the performance.
Greenland Garden Centre
If you’ve got children that don’t want to brave the cold, but you want to experience the holiday magic, Greenland Garden Centre is one of those fantastic local gems, just outside of Sherwood Park. It’s filled with holiday decor, trees and a wonderful
Festival Place
Drive through the loop at Festival Place and experience the magic of Christmas lights, starting with the light up the festival to kick off the celebration. The trees outside of the library are synced with music and lights through the holiday season and they’re a favourite for our kids!
Christmas at Bob’s
Located at 7421 108 St NW, Christmas at Bob’s is an Edmonton staple during the holiday season, with the walkthrough tunnel of lights, and so many Christmas ornaments and decor that you’re going to easily spend a bit of time walking around and enjoying the area.
Luminaria
Winter light magic. Imagine strolling through the candle-lit pathways of the Kurimoto Japanese Garden, sipping hot apple cider beside a bonfire, enjoying seasonal sounds of strolling a capella singers and spotting magical “snow sprites” within glittering ice sculptures. You can even share this whole experience with a loved one by lighting a candle in their honour in Memory Lane. So, stop with the stress, grab a mug, and soothe your soul at Luminaria.
Zoominescence
This December, Zoominescence, hosted by the Valley Zoo Development Society, will stage a spectacular exhibition of artistic light installations within the unique setting of the Edmonton Valley Zoo. The festival’s vision is to celebrate light, artistry, imagination and the strong spirit of our community in the winter. It will run for an 18 day period every December weekend.
The Singing House
Find this house at 9532 167 Street NW Not only is this home decked to the nines – but it also has some pretty clever tech-savvy features. Tune into its local radio station that broadcasts around the vicinity of the house.
Light Walk at the Muttart
Thursday Nights in November and December, you can take a stroll under the stars! Experience magic as you walk through the Temperate Pyramid surrounded by nature and other breathtaking wonders.
West Edmonton Mall
Another gem for families that want to try something different than the traditional outdoor lights, you can walk around the mall enjoying holiday music and counting Christmas trees and light installations. Go early, before the mall opens, for the best time to skip the crowds and watch the times when you might just get to experience an indoor snowstorm on weekends in November and December.
Alberta Legislature
Visit for the holiday lights, and grab a cup of hot cocoa to warm you up as you walk around and take it all in. Bring your skates, and stop by one of the skating rinks to spend a wonderful winter evening outside.
