Occupying the kids through spring break can get expensive. The admissions to the indoor playgrounds, the movie dates, the lunches out with the kids – it’s easy to break the budget. We wanted to share a few of our favourite free ways to entertain the kids during march break in Edmonton, with free events and activities during spring break for kids, to make it easier for you.
Mastermind Toys Playcation
Sign up at your local store for a different themed event, beginning March 28 at 11. It’s a fun way to try something new every day, and even take home a fun prize. Get the details at your local store when you sign up.
Chapters Indigo Spring Break Escape
Get involved at your local store, March 28 to April 1, with daily activities and events for kids. Get out of the house and take part in some fun projects and experiences, daily at 11 am. Contact your local store to find out additional details.
Sherwood Park Mall Enchanted Garden
Fun activities daily at Sherwood Park Mall between March 29 and April 1, will have kids building fairy gardens and creating fun imaginative scenes while listening to stories with Greentree Outdoor Living. Activities take place 1-3, daily, in the mall.
Sunday Sweat at Ivivva
Sunday morning yoga and movement classes before Ivivva opens, are free for kids 4+. Come out to the store and get moving, get involved, and have the chance to take part in this session, for free. Contact the store to see if upcoming dates are registered, or drop-in.
Kids Play at Kingsway Mall
March 30, you can join Dominelli School of music for a free kids play session at Kingsway Mall. It’s a fun way to get out of the house, and try something new, for little kids. The morning activities begin at 9am.
Free Family Movie Night
Doors open at 5:30pm on April 1, movie starts at 6:30pm. Concession available. Wear your PJs, bring your pillows and sleeping bags! The Movie will be an early release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. You must have a community league membership to attend this movie. We will have them for sale at the door. We would also appreciate a food bank donation. (Any community league membership will get you in, from any community)
Harry Potter Party at Audreys Books
If you have always wanted to know what house you would be in we have the sorting hat!
The wand chooses the wizard remember, so come on down and find out what kind of wand you were meant for. Do you enjoy the teachings of Professor Snape and want to be in one of his potions classes? We have a potions lab for you! Come on down to Audreys Books on April 2 and sit with our lovely divinations Professor and she just may read your tea leaves. Will it be something good she sees, or something terrible?
Spring Break on the Square
Beat Spring Break boredom! From noon to 4:00 pm, March 28 to April 1, the Edmonton Arts Council (EAC) will be filling Sir Winston Churchill Square with family fun for spring break. EAC’s Happenings on the Square will host free, drop-in activities for children of all ages and interests.
Farewell to Winter Party
Spring will soon be sprung and The Foundry Real Estate Co. has a celebration planned. They are tieing into WinterCity Strategy’s Farewell to Winter Patio Party weekend and throwing a party.
