If you feel like your kids need a bit of a refresher to get on the ice, you might want to consider stopping by one of the daily drop in learn to skate programs that are being held around the city, on the outdoor rinks. It’s easy to find a skating session near you to brush up on those skills to get you outside (and inside) this winter.
There are even designated times for parents + tots, giving you the chance to get your little kids on the ice and get familiar with skating movements at a slower pace.
Tip: at the downtown community rink, parents and children can rent skates and helmets at no cost! This is perfect if you want to try skating as a family but don’t have access to the equipment.
Opportunities available for parent and toddlers (under the age of 6) to either skate freely and/or allow their tots to play with sticks and pucks. This opportunity is only for Parents and Toddlers. Toddlers must be actively supervised by an adult. Children and adults must be on skates. Caregivers are not allowed to carry the child.
