We don’t know about you, but when it comes to entertaining the kids for a weekend of fun – the expenses can tally up quickly. Always on the lookout for free activities in Edmonton for families, and events that aren’t going to break the bank, we thought we would create a new feature that shares how to get out there as a family – and have some fun, on the cheap.
Whyte Wishes | December 10 and 17th
From Noon-4pm on Saturdays, December 10 and 17, ride around Old Strathcona in one of two horse-drawn sleighs. Please note, sleighs come by each stop approximately every 20 minutes and the last pick ups will be at approximately 3:30pm.
Hot Chocolate with Santa | December 17
Santa will be visiting our Windermere clinic on December 17th, 2016 from 11am to 2pm to enjoy some cookies and cocoa. Come down and have your picture taken with Santa and enjoy some cookies and cocoa on us!
Hay Rides and Santa Photos | December 10 and 17, 2016
Get your photo taken with Santa Clause and get it printed instantly. When you’re finished, hop on a FREE horse drawn hay ride around the parking lot – the pick up point is in front of the Professional Centre doors, and finish off this magical experience.
Bright Lights Festival | December 17
Ellerslie Road Baptist Church is hosting a free family Christmas Event — the Bright Lights Festival! Enjoy a wagon ride down our luminary-lit pathway….a light supper and snacks will be served throughout the event. We will have lots of crafts for all ages, music, door prizes and other fun activities.
Flashlight Candy Cane Hunt | December 17, 4-8
($2) This one comes with a nominal fee, Join Little Minion Family Events for a Candy Cane Hunt! Bring your Flashlights and hunt for Candy Canes at the Fort Saskatchewan museum grounds! Then join us for hot chocolate and last minute letter writing to Santa! Please note: This is a Registered Event. Pre-registration will be required.
Admission is $2 per child. Deadline to Register is December 7, 2016
